Please read carefully the attached operating instructions and the Quickstartguide before your first ride.
Can I exchange the saddle?
Of course. The best way is to ask your specialist dealer to find you a custom fit model. You will find suitable models on Lidl’s Website. The saddle rails have a diameter of 7mm and can be exchanged for a suitable model.
Can you use a different saddle with springs?
Generally speaking you can install another saddle if it fits the mounting bracket on the saddle post.
Can any type of luggage rack be mounted:
Basically it is possible to install a universal luggage rack by using the assembly points located on the frame. Since there are various different models on the market here, it is a good idea to consult a specialist dealer to find the luggage rack that suits your needs.
For example, one that will fit is the following model:
M-Wave
Model: “Screw-on II A” aluminium luggage rack
What kind of child trailer can I attach to the pedelec?
Attaching a child trailer to our pedelec is not permitted.
Attaching a bicycle trailer to the rear-wheel axle is not possible because of the adjustable rear-wheel suspension. This is a necessary design feature in order to be able to tense the belt.
If a trailer were to be attached to the rear-wheel axle, the rear wheel might be pulled backwards and the belt tension would then be too high. This can lead to damage to the belt or the pinion.
On the homepage it says that a bicycle trailer is not allowed with the Crivit Urban e-bike X. What does that mean?
“Attaching a bicycle trailer to the rear-wheel axle is not possible because of the adjustable rear-wheel suspension.

Does a belt need maintenance?
Although you can expect your belt to last for a fairly long time,
regular inspections and regular replacement are
recommended. The belt discs should be checked for damage such as
bending or cracks. Check the belt for the following: broken-off or missing teeth;
cracks at the base of the teeth; ragged tension cords; misshapen
and worn teeth.
Do I have to be careful about which detergent I use to clean my toothed drive-belt/pedelecs?
One characteristic of the carbon drive-belt is its very good chemical
resistance. Contact with cleaning solutions from soaping and rinsing
should not cause any damage. But soaking the belt
over for a long period of time is not recommended and for cleaning only soapy water should be used.
My toothed drive-belt creaks. What can I do?
The belt can cause noise whenever it runs heavily against the flange
on the belt discs. This can be caused by misalignment
of the belt discs, misalignment of the wheel, or drive wear caused by
damaged components. The
solution is to correct the alignment or to replace
the damaged components. Another possible noise
source is a loose front belt disc.
Noise sometimes can occur when riding in a dirt-filled environment.
This noise is in no way any indication of a problem with your
pedelec. In most cases all you have to do to get rid of the noise is rinse
off belt and belt disc after your ride. If the noise continues to occur,
there is a very simple solution: spray the belt down with
water and wait until it is dry. Then apply a thin layer of
dry silicon spray on the toothed side of the belt. Rapidly
drying silicon dries immediately, has the effect of repelling sand,
and has no effect on the durability of the belt.

Is it possible to buy a second rechargeable battery from you in order to have greater range?
An additional rechargeable battery can be purchased through the spare parts shop (https://lds-service.com) in the coming weeks.
The pedelec’s rechargeable battery quickly drains - what can I do?
In cold weather the rechargeable battery and motor power are unable to fully take effect.
So on cold winter’s days don’t worry about the range being more
limited. This is due to the cold and is normal with lithium-ion rechargeable
batteries. At warmer temperatures your pedelec will return to its full
power capacity.
How and for how long do I charge the rechargeable battery?
The rechargeable battery can easily be removed for charging. To do this follow the instructions
as described in the chapter “Rechargeable battery and rechargeable battery charger”.
Be sure to keep the connection dry and free from dirt and keep it away
from metallic dust or metal objects. The pedelec rechargeable
battery should be charged indoors, always at above 5°C and in
a dry location. The charger should not be stored outdoors. Do not leave the charger permanently connected.
It takes approximately 2.5 hours for the rechargeable battery to be fully charged again. The lighting system
is charged immediately at the same time because it is fed via the rechargeable battery.
The Crivit charger stops the charging process automatically when the rechargeable battery
is full. There is no danger of overcharging the rechargeable battery if you forget
to unplug. The rechargeable-battery management system
also protects it from undercharging but don’t forget to charge
the pedelec every five to six weeks when you are not using it.
How can I take care of rechargeable battery maintenance?
If you don’t use the pedelec regularly, you must charge the rechargeable battery
every 5 to 6 weeks. If not the cells might get damaged.
The rechargeable battery is best stored at a capacity of 40-60%.
Store the pedelec and/or the rechargeable battery in a dry location,
especially in winter. It doesn’t have to be in a specially heated room but nonetheless
we recommend not storing it in locations with a temperature of less than
5°C. Direct sunlight should also be avoided. Charging should
be done basically in a dry and not too cold environment
but always at above at least 5°C. The charger is best kept inside
the house.
Moreover: In cold weather the rechargeable battery and motor power are
unable to fully take effect. So on cold winter’s days don’t worry about the range being more
limited. This is due to the cold and is normal with lithium-ion rechargeable
batteries. In summer the pedelec will recover its full performance
capabilities.
Can a spoke lock be attached?
Basically a spoke lock can be attached – the devices for this are located on the frame. Please consult the specialist dealer.
What is the correct tyre pressure?
The ideal tyre pressure is 50-60PSI. (approx. 4bar)
What are the bright strips on the sides of the tyres for?
These are reflective strips, which are highly visible at night.
What does a 5-year warranty mean?
The entire bike has a 2-year warranty. The frame actually has a 5-year warranty.
Lidl specifies a range of 70km at assistance level 1. What is approximate expected range at assistance levels 3 and 4?
“The actual range of the EPAC is dependent on many specific factors.
These may be, for example, the outside temperature, the riding style, or weight of the rider, as well as the conditions of the terrain and the selected assistance level.
70km is realistic on paved roads and easy terrain in assistance level 3.”
The mudguard catches. What can I do?
Use the black mounts on the mudguard to adjust the length
of the mudguard. To do this, loosen the lateral Allen screw in the mount and adjust the length.
The pedelec doesn’t start. What can I do?
Check the charging status of the rechargeable battery and the cable connections.
The LEDs on the display are lit up.
Try switching the pedelec off for 5 minutes. Should the fault continue to appear, please contact our service department.
Where can I find the frame number?
The frame number can be found under the pedal bearing.
For what size is the bike suitable?
Diamond frame (black): 170-195cm
Step-through (beige): 160-190cm
Can I use the pedelec without electrical assistance?
Of course. When you wish to pedal unassisted, simply leave the drive system off or ride at assistance level 0 to use the pedelec just like an ordinary bike.
Can I ride the CRIVIT Urban e-bike in the rain?
The E-Bike is weather-proof and, equipped with protection class IPX5, the bike can also be ridden in the rain without any problem.
And it has been subjected to a very demanding IPX5 water and dust test using powerful jets of water.
How many gears does the Crivit Urban e-bike have?
Crivit Urban e-bikes do not have mechanical gear changing. Instead they are supported by a smart torque sensor. This recognises intuitively how much power you need. The harder you pedal, the more assistance you get from the rear-wheel hub motor. Without the bike changing gears at all.
The position of the seat is not optimal. What can I do?
The dimensions of the handlebars and stem are standard. Components
components can be exchanged, but remember: raising the handlebar or stem
does not automatically lead to more comfort, but often to a less agile, unstable
agile, unstable steering behaviour. Contact a bicycle dealer
dealer about this, who can change the stem and handlebars if necessary, in order to
position that suits you best. Furthermore, you can of course adjust the saddle to achieve optimal comfort.
What size is the packaging of the bikes?
The delivery package for the step-through model measures approximately 184 x 23 x 114cm and the packaging for the Diamond bike is around 184 x 23 x 111cm. Both weigh around 25kg.
Is the Urban e-bike ready to ride after delivery?
The Crivit Urban e-bike is ready to ride after taking 3 steps: You merely have to turn the handlebars and tighten using the tool provided, assemble the pedals and, last but not least, adjust the height of the saddle to your body size. You’re off!
Can I have the bike sent to me at a Lidl branch?
Yes, buy the bike on-line and have it sent at your convenience to the branch of your choice.
Can I attach a mobile phone holder?
You can attach an SP Connect mobile phone holder on the stem. Model: STEM MOUNT SQUARE SPC+
Can I adjust the height of the handlebars?
The height of the handlebars comes optimally set to meet the various needs of different people. Any further adjustment of the height is not possible. If you wish to have a different handlebar configuration, you can seek advice from your specialist dealer regarding compatible models.
My brakes rub - what can I do?
Loosen the impeller in question and then pull the brake lever. The brake disc is now centred exactly in the middle between the brake bosses. Now tighten the screws and/or the quick-release lever of the impeller.
How can I vent my brake?
Please have your brakes vented only by a specialist company.
How can I replace the hydraulic fluid?
Please have the hydraulic fluid replaced only by a specialist company.
